Vuzix iWear AV920-C Headset: Daisy Chain for 4 Player Splitscreen Gaming [Gaming]

At this year’s Game Developer’s conference, Vuzix has unveiled a headset with a new feature that should be very interesting for gamers—especially fans of co-op FPS titles. The iWear AV920-C is capable of accepting video from anything with a composite video out and displaying it on the internal 640×480 LCDs. That’s equivalent to viewing a 62-inch display viewed from 9-feet away—but that is not even the most interesting part.
The folks at Vuzix had FPS fans in mind when they included technology in the AV920-C that allows gamers to connect up to 4 headsets in a daisy chain to a single console. WiiMote Lighsaber Add-on Possible For Xbox 360, PS3? [Gaming]

Kotaku found this InterSense technology demo down at the Game Developers Conference, which seems to do what Nintendo and LucasArts will not: a 1 to 1 mapping of a gesture controller to a lightsaber on screen. These guys are more of a technology company rather than a peripheral company like Novint, so they’re aiming at getting a volume deal with a console manufacturer like Microsoft or Sony to bundle their tech into controllers. Head over to the ‘tak to see their demo video. It’s a little laggy, but them’s the breaks. [Kotaku]

Rubik’s Cube Security Gadget Looks Too Complicated To Be Useful [Rubik's Cube]

Could you imagine if you had to solve a Rubik’s cube every time you had to access your email? Your Google Groups friends would call you up in about a week wondering if you died. Cheng-Li Hung thinks differently, and designed up this rather cool-looking (and slightly simplified) Rubik’s security system. To secure your computer, just set up a color combination that only you know. “Solve” the cube for your color combo and you’re back in. You can even set a time limit so people can’t just guess. Neat idea, but it’s too impractical to work. [Yanko Design]
