40 Hour Nonstop Call Record Posted

Imagine 40 hours of talking nonstop. Yeah my jaw hurts just thinking about it. But Cornishman Tony Wright, who also holds the record for sleeplessness by staying awake for 11 days, was able to do this feat via his Internet phone — with the help from his friends.
Wright, who was still on the phone when he broke the record, started this record-breaking call with a conversation with TV weather forecaster Sian Lloyd. A number of people has, since then, taken turns to help him break the record, including Jenny Barnard, who was on the other end of the line when the record was beaten. Topics ranged from ranged heartbreaks and romance to psychobabble and from stomach mucus to the upcoming Led Zeppelin concert, as Metro.Co.Uk writes.
If you’re thinking of the phone bill, worry not as Tesco, an internet phone company, sponsored the event.

Motherboards: Via Epia SN Delivers Unparalleled Speed in Tiny Frame

The Via Epia SN is one of the smallest and definitely one of the fastest motherboards around and it’s guaranteed to give every gamer a triple orgasm. The first model of this type to have a 1.8GHz CPU and a 16x PCIe slot, the Epia SN also has four SATA ports, a CF card connector, dual-LAN network ports, an Ultra DMA port and WiFi.
The prize here is the Via C7 CPU — which, when combined with a high-end video card, will make you drool in gamer-delight. The Epia SN should be available in November for businesses and hopefully to consumers shortly thereafter — no word on the price yet, but I’m thinking it’ll hurt. [Via via Wired]

Tattoo: Zune Tattoo Guy Gets Third Zune-Related Tattoo

Remember Steven Smith, the Zune tattoo guy? Well, having promised us a third Zune tattoo for a while now, Steven has re-emerged with not only pictures of the new design but also bearing a new, slimmer body. The tattoo is the catchphrase, “Welcome to the social” and is proudly (and apparently painfully) tattooed on the back of his left shoulder. What’s next, Steven? [ZuneMax]

3D: MotionPortrait Animates Still Photos, Turns On Internet Dating World

MotionPortrait has released a new photo imaging program of the same name that can take a regular 2D picture and transform it into a moving, smiling, talking 3D model. According to the company, a one-gigahertz CPU can handle the 2D-to-3D transformation, which then allows the user to change eye color, hair-style and facial expressions. The CG animation can even be synced with sound to respond to various inputs.
This is easily one of the best picture-to-CG animations I’ve seen. Sure, it’s not flawless — but if the company keeps improving on it, it can open up a whole lot of interesting features for social networking sites and video games. Unfortunately, the program can only be used through companies that put it into their own products — but I’m expecting a 3D animated Yuri to be doing obscene gestures my friend’s cellphones in the near future.
