Motorola Razr 2 Might Not Save Motorola’s Profits

The original Motorola Razr was so popular it helped the company print money. The company was hoping for a repeat with the Motorola Razr 2, but analysts don’t think the new version can save the company’s profitability.

Motorola, the biggest U.S. mobile-phone maker, began selling the $250 Razr 2 last month. While the new device has a bigger screen and more storage for songs, it lacks features such as the touch screen found in Apple Inc.’s iPhone.
The Razr 2, based on the handset that analysts say accounts for a third of Motorola’s phone sales, will fail to win buyers because they can get the original for free with a service contract, said Brad Williams, who helps manage $13 billion as MTB Investment Advisors in Baltimore.
“You put it on the table next to the old Razr, and you don’t really see what you’re paying the extra $250 for,” Williams […]

Steve Jobs Letter To iPhone Customers

Steve Jobs has issued his official letter to all iPhone customers that got to pay $200.00 dollars extra for being the first adopters to use the iPhone.

To all iPhone customers:
I have received hundreds of emails from iPhone customers who are upset about Apple dropping the price of iPhone by $200 two months after it went on sale. After reading every one of these emails, I have some observations and conclusions.
First, I am sure that […]

Cell Phones Could Be Dangerous To A Patients Health

A recent study has found that people using cell phones in hospitals can present a danger to patients health.
The study was published by the online journal Critical Care on Wednesday and looked into the impact that electromagnetic interference that mobile phones emit had on crucial medical devices like ventilators and pacemakers.
Signals that were equal in strength to those given off by second- and third-generation mobile phones significantly interfered with medical devices, and the study’s authors categorized 75% of those incidents as “hazardous,” meaning that the interference had a direct impact on patient health, or “significant,” indicating that it significantly distracted health care providers. Hazardous incidents included the sudden switching off or restarting of machines — which could mean disruption of a patient’s feeding tube, ventilator, pacemaker or dialysis machine — and most events occurred when mobile phones were within 3 cm of critical-care equipment.

The study was initiated by a […]
