An adventurous individual was probably so inspired by the Geohot tutorial / blog about unlocking his iPhone that he tried doing it on his own. The result? His iPhone short-circuited, and ended up as the expensive pile of trash that you see here. What’s the moral of the story? “If you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do it”… or should it be, “just wait until it becomes open source and save yourself the grief”?

It seems that iPhoneSIMfree is keeping its promise, sort-off. It is now going to provide its much talked-about software-based unlock available to the public, but only in bulk and only to resellers. They had this to say: “Iphonesimfree.com is a wholesale only company. Although we could, we do not and will not sell directly to end users, because we want to work together with our valuable resellers as a team and not interfere in their business.”

Introducing the latest in the line of Hello Kitty phones, the OKWAP C150. This handset, which features an integrated 3.0 megapixel camera with video recording capability, MP3 player and FM Radio tuner, a billingual dictionary with Chinese and English support (like the A268Kitty) and a good-sized 100MB of built-in memory as well as microSD expansion support. This handset is a dual-sim unit, able to support a CDMA line and a GSM line at the same time. The keypad shows dedicated GSM and CDMA call buttons. No word on pricing or availability.
