LG Electronics had women in mind when commissioning Robert Ryan, lead designer of famous British design house Paul Smith, to design the LG SV300S / LV3000S Crystal Edition phone.
Applying a high-class feminine touch, the elegant SV300S is decorated with jeweled crystals over a fabric-wrapped exterior. Offering 2.2-inch internal and 1.3-inch external 262K-color TFT LCDs, a VGA camera with flash, and 64-chord polyphonic ringtones, the SV300S Crystal Edition measures 99 x 49.5 x 16.2 mm, weighs 93 grams, and offers up to 180 minutes of talk time and 200 hours of standby.
Available only in Korean markets, the LG SV300S / LV3000S Crystal Edition will be offered by carrier CYON.

Over the next 5 years, Linux is expected to be the fastest growing Smartphone OS with a compound annual growth rate in excess of 75 percent. By 2012, a recent study from ABI Research forecasts the Linux-based OS to account for nearly 31 percent of all smart devices in the market - representing more than 331 million cumulative shipments over the same period.
Research director Stuart Carlaw states, “Serious initiatives from the likes of Intel and Access are gathering pace and momentum, whilst the carrier community continues to identify Linux as one of the few operating systems that it intends to support in its long-term plans.” Carlaw adds, “Linux is benefiting from growing support in the handset OEM community, most notably Motorola, but also Nokia with less traditional types of devices aimed at mobile broadband applications.” The rise of mobile broadband and the impact that this has upon device convergence and […]

Behold the LG enV in all its drab military olive-ness. Ok, it’s not quite as sensible as the silver and black variant, or as blinding as the bright orange VX9900, but you gotta admit… it’s different. One might assume that, since they’re releaseing a new color variant, sales for the VX9900 might be quite good. This variant of the phone, which like its cousins sports a small display and the usual number keypad on the outside, but carries a bigger screen and QWERTY keyboard within, might do well in the jungle where it might be camouflaged, but we’re not to sure it would look quite attractive on the side of one’s face in the city. No release date has been mentioned as yet. Watch this space for updates.

That’s what this particular blogger is saying anyway. They’re offering $100,000 to anyone who would share their unlocking software with the world. And since this person will not be selling it, technically give it away to the world, supposedly it will be legal-battle free from AT&T. Whether those who supposedly have the software solution to AT&T’s iPhone dictatorship will actually settle for $100,000 is anyone’s guess. If this post is genuine, and truly legal-issue free, it might just be a good idea. Open source it to the world, gentlemen!
